Neck Pain and Headaches

Neck Pain and Headaches

Neck pain affects nearly 80% of the U.S. population at any given time.  Neck pain can be a factor in lost work productivity and neck pain complicated by headaches can make a person miserable.  The causes of neck pain can range from relative simple neck muscle weakness to complications such as bone spurs, arthritis, disc degeneration and herniation, as well as non- spinal causes originating in organs such as the heart and radiating or “referring” pain up into the neck.  Neck pain can lead to poor range of motion with can make activities such as driving, looking down to read or write and many other activities of daily living miserable.  Neck dysfunction can irritate the occipital nerves that travel up into the head and cause headaches that radiate to above the eyes.  Neck dysfunction can irritate nerves that lead into the upper-back and cause tight muscles, loss of range of motion, and numbness and tingling into the arms and hands.  Neck pain that affects the upper ribcage and collarbones can cause circulatory changes that affect the arms and hands.  Many treatments for neck pain are ineffective and similar to low back pain, there are many unnecessary surgeries performed every year.  Neck fusion surgeries generally have a very poor outcome and can lead to more significant pain and disability.  Fortunately, the doctors at the Windsor CBP® Spine Center may have a solution to your neck pain and headaches.  Once it is determined that you are a candidate for the rehabilitation programs that we offer, you can be on your way to a pain free life in a relatively short time.  Don’t suffer, call today to see what the Windsor CBP® Spine Center can do to help you!
