Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome is characterized by pain with numbness and tingling in the forearm, wrist and hand. Carpal tunnel syndrome can be a major cause of weakness and dysfunction in the hands and is complicated by use of the hands in a pinching fashion, use of a computer keyboard and is often worsened when the hands are held above the head. Carpal tunnel syndrome can be very disabling and can result in atrophy of the muscles of the hands, the inability to grasp objects and loss of function. Unfortunately, traditional treatments, including surgical intervention often have no effect and the syndrome is often misdiagnosed as the source of the problem can come from other areas of potential nerve entrapment above the level of the wrist. Fortunately, the doctors at the Windsor CBP Spine Center have had great success with carpal tunnel syndrome and related disorders. A thorough exam and consultation will be necessary to determine if you are a candidate for the rehabilitation programs to alleviate the pain, burning, numbness and tingling of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
